These little moments made me smile so I thought I would share them. The first 2 are a little redundant but equally cute.

Some Recent Fun

Yesterday we went to Monkey Joes to try to release some energy. Kaelan, as we all know, is not the biggest fan of sleep so I try to come up with things to do in the morning that will encourage exhaustion and NAP. Both boys go down for nap after lunch but K does NOT always fall asleep. His litte mind and body just go, go, go. Although sleep is not a high priority for him, it is a much happier and friendlier afternoon if he does actually take a nap. Anyways, we had a GREAT time at Monkey Joes, bouncing and going down the slides. As you could see, Max loved the big slide. He started fussing almost immediately once we got to the bottom which made me think he didn't like it. However, as soon as we got off and started moving away, he began throwing a huge fit and pointing at the slide. Sooooo, it wasn't fussing because he didn't like it, he was fussing (just 1 second afterwards) because it was over. :) I guess he'll be a little daredevil like his brother...yay!!!

Here are some other recent pics and videos...enjoy!

Maddox has an obsession with Mickey Mouse so I thought he might like to wear Kaelan's "ears". K was a cowboy at the time so it ended up being a fabulous photo-op!

Kaelan has a time-out buddy now-a-days. Everytime he has to go, little brother follows. :)

Monday we had a great morning at the downtown library. Here they are playing in a little room designated for fun for ages 4 and under. They could have stayed all day I think. Lately, Kaelan has been very into puppet shows for some reason so he was happy for the opportunity to perform for me. :)

Max is quite the little walker now so he just walked all around the room exploring everything it had to offer. He walked all over Monkey Joes too. I just love watching him walk...he's always so proud of himself!!!

Posing before bed..."Take a picture of us Mommy."

Zoo fun last weekend.

This pic and the linked videos are from the little play area at our mall. Again, I was looking for a way to get some energy out and it was too hot to be outside. They had the BEST time. Luckily for K (and me), there was another little boy there to play with. He immediately gave Kaelan one of his Star Wars toys to play with and they were fast friends. They pretty much took over the area with their noise and antics but the other kids joined in and it was fun to watch. I had to include this attempted "deal" by Kaelan because the other boy's response was hilarious!!!

Watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

As we've said before, Max LOVES chairs and he often uses this as his "TV chair". This night, he decided to turn it into a recliner. ;)

Finally, a video from his final swim lesson. I put the 3 best clips together for efficiency. In one of them (I think the middle clip), he was supposed to jump in, come up and take a breath, and then float on his back in a "star". Well, as you'll see, he took this direction literally. These lessons were a great opportunity and he continues to practice what he learned. This video shows some of his best skills of swimming on his stomach and floating.

Just Pictures...Indy #4

These are more pictures from our day at the Fort Wayne Zoo. I think I said before that I grew up visiting this zoo with my grandparents, parents, and brother. That first picture was taken inside one of the old safari cars we would ride in (which was always my favorite part).

Kaelan experiencing another one of my fondest memories...the lion drinking fountain.

Obviously it's been many years since those safari rides I loved so much. They have now changed the attraction to a skyway. There was a 2-year old age requirement. I didn't want Max to miss out on the chance to experience my favorite memory so he was 2 for the day. However, once we got on, it started going up, and he started moving around, I became terrified. It was a LONG way down, and as you can see, he was definitely small enough to fit through the bottom of the safety bar. AAHHHH!!!

Kaelan rode with Grandpa, and although he wouldn't fit through the opening, Dad was still a little uneasy whenever K would move to get a better view or look for us. But look how cute!!!
A much needed cooling off. I just wish we had one of those portable misters because it was WELL over 100 degrees that day. I can't believe the boys were so well behaved and we all had SO much fun in that weather.

We got Max out of his stroller as much as possible and he was very grateful!

You can see their poor sweaty heads :)

Playing the African drums

There was this little outpost in "Asia" that provided fabulous photo-ops and MUCH NEEDED air conditioning!!!

Everything he can do...

I can do better :)

No one's looking at the camera but I LOVE this shot of 3 happy guys playing together!!!

Playing on the real train

"Hi Grandma!!!!!"

Kaelan as a joey

The final activity, a relaxing (and hot) boat ride

No visit to Fort Wayne would be complete without visiting Grandpa! This was the first time he and Max had met, but as you can see, they hit it off beautifully!!!

Great visit, great family, great kids, great memories!!!!!

Playing the Wii

We had the best time last night playing the Wii together...the whole family (even Max). I had the BEST videos of the fun, including Kaelan getting a strike and Max taking a turn (kind of). :) Of course, I have managed to lose both clips between then and now and I am SOOO not happy!!!!

Anyways, at least I got a couple still shots of K's skills.

And this is my pirate crew, fresh from a recent voyage for stolen treasure. :)

Couple Cute Videos

Caught some cute giggling and dancing from the little guy so thought I would share.

Dancing

Ticklish Boy
(Please excuse the annoying screaming in the background from big brother trying to get attention. Notice he's the ONLY one at the table finishing his dinner...annoying!!!!)

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far and enjoying the milder weather! :)

Standing up and Walking

Just a quick little video. Maddox has been standing up (from sitting) and walking all day today. He doesn't get very far, but as the video shows, he keeps at it. Crawling is still his mode of transportation of choice but this is definite progress. Go Max!!!

Progress

Swim Lessons & Zoo

Kaelan started swim lessons this past Monday at a local sports club. Luckily for him, he is the only kid registered in his class so he gets 1-on-1 instruction 2 days a week for 45 minutes. That's A LOT of swimming (and exercise!!!) for a little guy. Also lucky for him, he has a female instructor. :) As we all know, he is a little bit of a "ladies man" so he is more than happy to have the attention. K loves the water and he has really been doing a great job swimming under the water. However, to be truly safe in the water, he needs to be able to control his breathing and swim above the water. We are hoping he'll learn these skills during these lessons. He's already learned to float on his back and he's well on his way to being able to take breaths while he swims. I'm SO proud of my little man!!! I put a few of the swimming clips together from day 1 and day 2, however, these are not very exciting and mostly for our memories so you might not want to watch them. :)

Also this week, we took advantage of a milder (and thankfully less humid) morning by going for a bike ride and to the zoo.

On our bike ride/walk, we came across this little train to play on.

We got incredibly lucky that the larger of the 2 lions (both males) was resting right in front of the window. It was truly amazing to see his size and beauty. I went a little crazy with pictures and video since it was so close but here are the best ones.

Check out those teeth!!!

Pool fun

We went to the pool here in our apartment complex the other morning. It's a really nice pool with 6 in wading areas on both ends that are perfect for Max. Even better, there are sprinklers/fountains spraying into these areas at both ends as well (as you'll see in the videos). Being that it was 10 on a weekday morning, we were the only ones there which is always a bonus. I love how confident and capable Kaelan is continuing to be in the pool. It makes it so much easier and allows him to have more fun. Now, as soon as I can get Max to be held up by some floaties, things will be perfect. Poor K doesn't get much play time when there's only one of us around since we have to be with Max 100% near the water. Luckily, he seems to understand that we need to keep his little brother safe. Another good thing, Max loves the water just about as much as big brother does. Great exercise and lots of fun!!! (Plus, eating a good lunch and taking a great nap afterwards are always a bonus for Mommy!!!)

Quick videos and walking update

Just wanted to share some quick videos of today's walking experiences. Maddox is getting more and more confident with his walking skills. When standing next to something (couch, chair, etc.), he'll attempt to walk before dropping to his knees. Before today, he would maybe stand for a minute, but as soon as he wanted to move, he would drop to the ground. I bet tomorrow we'll get even more than 3 or 4 steps at a time. At least today I was able to get a couple "stunts" recorded.

Just pictures from Indy #3

This post is all about the Indianapolis Children's Museum. The younger Robertsons (Jen, Ally, Jack, & Ben) came all the way from Cincy to spend the afternoon with Aunt Linda and us. We had an absolutely wonderful time. Kaelan truly enjoyed exploring and putting his inquisitive personality to great use. I put my control-issues aside and let Max crawl around wherever so he could explore as well. I don't know who had more fun, the grown-ups or the kids. I love when that happens!!!! Enjoying the beautiful view from the bottom of the 4-story glass sculpture that climbs through the center of the museum. That's Jack, Ally, and of course Kaelan in the center. (If you remember, Ally was the flower girl in Scott's wedding.)

We can sculpt too!

I can put this artifact back together!!!
See!

Playing dinosaurs with Grandpa

The trick was keeping him from throwing the dinosaurs everywhere. Playing ball is his favorite thing to do afterall. But look how happy he is!!! There were SO many things that were the perfect size for him. I really didn't expect him to be able to do so much but he had the BEST time!!!!

Lovin' on Grandma

2 couch potatoes...he loved this guy!

This face says it all (although I'm pretty sure he's not supposed to be up there...oh well!)

"Hello!"

Playing a game where we had to decide what ingredients were needed for each type of healthy snack.

We saved the best for last...the Dora and Diego Room. This would have been a great, great photo if Max would have cooperated. Kaelan, however, is posing perfectly!!!!

There was a little slide towards the rear of the room. Once Max saw it, that's pretty much where he wanted to stay for the remainder of the visit. Grandma showed him how to sit on his bottom at the top of the slide before attempting to go down. Thanks Grandma!!! A skill he remembered and used yesterday at a local playground. :)

Shape flowers...hmmm, where does this one go?

A couple funny videos from the ride home-
