Blake's 1st Haircut

Yesterday was a super fun day! We went for a hike, went swimming twice (once at our community pool and later at Papa & Nana's), and all 4 boys got a haircut. This was Blake's 1st haircut experience and he did fabulously!! He was getting quite the mullet as his bleach blonde, fine hair grew longer and longer pretty much only in the back. We have always taken the boys to kid-themed haircut places as babies but they are extremely pricey and I hoped that Blake wouldn't be so high maintenance. He did not disappoint!! Although he was very quiet (mostly because he had just woken up from napping in the car), he didn't cry and sat remarkably still considering he's only 15 months old. Thank goodness haircuts will be a 1-stop shop for the boys from now on (and still cheaper than only 1 haircut for me...ugh).

May

Good morning!

Waiting for Grandma and Grandpa to arrive

We have a local hot air balloon festival.  One of the balloons happened to land in a grassy area by our community pool and they were kind enough to allow the children to go up very briefly.  I had to pretty much force Kaelan and Max (who had been interrupted from being pirates) to do it.  I couldn't let them pass up this kind of opportunity.  :)

Field day

The best part of field day was the end when the kids were sprayed down with a fire truck

He had been saying "all done" and "uh-oh" for a few weeks at this point but this was the 1st time I was able to record it

April (the rest of)

I am way behind of course so I am going to try to catch up as quickly as I can, beginning with the rest of April.  A major highlight of the month was Jennifer's wedding, one of Mike's nieces.  It was a beautiful day and the boys looked adorable (and were even well behaved).

Max's favorite part :)

With the gorgeous bride!!
April was an extremely busy month.  Our Disney trip was followed immediately by Jennifer's wedding.  But I have to admit that one of my favorite parts of the month (sorry boys) was a much needed girls' trip.  Katrina, Melissa, and I met in Atlanta for a long weekend.  It was much chillier than we expected which really changed our plans to enjoy downtown by walking everywhere.  However, when you have friends like I have, you don't need to leave the hotel room to have the best time EVER!

Katrina graciously used her hotel points to book a room at the W Hotel right in the middle of downtown.   It was AMAZING!

A couple highlights: a spa day (thanks again to Katrina's points) and even a surprise visit from room service with champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries courtesy of Melissa's husband, Colin.  FABULOUS!!!
 Some randoms...

I was extremely proud to receive this in Kaelan's folder one Friday.  The sticky note explains

Showing off their body art, face paint, and colored hair they got at Kaelan's school's Spring Carnival

He likes chairs as much as Max used to.  He gets extremely proud of himself  when he climbs into one.

A little indoor batting practice
Blake has changed SO much over the past couple of months and I've done a DREADFUL job documenting it.  I have lots of videos and pics but of course I haven't posted much of it.  Here's a glimpse of how chatty he was/is.  It's obviously from April but it displays whose name he says when he's happy.

Almost a Walker

As always, I have WAY too much to catch you up on, but for right now I'm sharing our most recent development. Blake is almost walking. He has been using every possible movable object as a walker (dining chair, activity table, step ladder, and of course his actual walkers). It is definitely his preferred way of moving, but until this past week, has not wanted to stand or walk unassisted. Here he is in action.

Standing with the new toy Nana got him. This was the 1st time he went to a standing position without pulling up on something.
Walking with his activity table
Taking a stroll (in the rain and his pajamas) with Daddy and his big brothers
Standing (and proud of himself)
And finally, a couple steps

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!!!

Spring Break - 3

The sign says it all :)

Trying to pose with the castle in the background

Kaelan, Mike, Grandma, & Grandpa went straight to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad while I took the littles to play outside Splash Mountain.  One of the few moments Blake got to get out.  However, he was a little unsure of his surroundings he was happy to explore, until another little girl came and ran right over him when she wasn't looking.  That pretty much ended his "playtime".  Poor guy! :(

Max was clearly too big for this little playground now but he didn't care.  :)

Waiting for the "Celebrate a Dream Come True" parade.  We had just finished a wonderful lunch at the Tavern Inn thanks to Dad.  Everyone enjoyed their meal and the boys LOVED their light-up skeleton straws Grandpa got them.  Even better, the parade route was right outside the restaurant so we easily got a front row view.

Watchin' the parade with Grandma

Kaelan wanted to show off the new hat he HAD to buy.  He briefly saw it at an outdoor kiosk on the way from Splash Mountain (our last ride before lunch) to the restaurant.  It's literally ALL he talked about at lunch so Mike took him to get it real quick before the parade started.  It's so funny what kids get hooked on...randomness!!!

Being in the front row has its advantages.  The boys loved it!!!!

Epcot was day 3 at the parks.  This is oddly Kaelan's favorite park.  He loves Spaceship Earth and Test Track!!!  This is a horrible picture but had to include it for memory's sake.

We had been losing a lot of time leaving for naps and dealing with crowds, so  we decided to stay and see if Max would sleep on a bench someplace.  If he hadn't lost basically an entire night's sleep earlier in the week, we wouldn't have cared if he napped at all, but he really needed to catch up.  Obviously, this was not a problem.

I sat with the 2 sleeping little ones while Mike, Kaelan, Grandma, & Grandpa rode Test Track.  When they got back, it was my turn to ride along with Scott and Melonna.  Definitely a highlight for everyone!  2 HOURS later, I finally had to wake Max up.  The boy can sleep!!!!

Next, we were off to the World Showcase and Kaelan's new favorite part of Disney World, "Where's Perry?"  He and Uncle Scott had the BEST time with this activity in Mexico and neither one of them can wait for our next trip so they can find Perry in the rest of the countries.

Posing with a couple of their favorite characters, Phineas & Ferb
