Just Pics Again

Just "hangin' around" at the apartment playground

Practicing for Halloween

"Cheese!"

Lovin' on Jasmine

Playin' pirates with Daddy

These next few are from a new playground we found.  For anyone who knows the children's book, Ladybug Girl and Bumblebee Boy, it's just like the playground in the story.  That is one of K's favorite books so he really loves this place.

Bein' a fireman.  Look out Colin!

These next few are from a play-date we had with some kids from Kaelan's class.  It was at Pump It Up and we all had a great time!

Max brought me my camera and started saying cheese.  Problem was, he kept getting closer and closer to me as he said it (I was on the floor).  Oddly, the pic turned out really cute.

Finally, these last ones are from Fall into Greenville.  It's basically like "the taste" with local food vendors, entertainment, and a little kiddie area.

Kaelan wanted to get his face painted.  I know you're surprised at what he chose to get.

The finished product.  It looked amazing and he loved it!!!!

Visiting Uncle Scott

Again, I'm back-tracking since I'm SO behind but here are the pics from our Florida trip to visit Uncle Scott and Aunt Melonna.  Mike was traveling the week before and the week after so instead of flying back to SC for the weekend, he flew into Orlando.  It was perfect!!!  Mom and Dad got here Friday evening, we left early Saturday morning, and came back home Tuesday.  Short trip but lots of fun and memories!
Showing off his new Captain America toy Grandma and Grandpa brought

Max's new train.  Grandpa was very excited to show him how it worked.  Max LOVED it!!!

Saturday was mostly a travel day so Sunday was our first day of fun...and it was FUN!!!!  We started at Epcot so we could meet Melonna's friend who could get us in for free.  Here's Max "sliding" down the planters while we wait.

Then it was off to the monorail that would take us to the Magic Kingdom.  Check out these two fierce boys!

And one not-so-fierce!  ;)

Everybody loves the monorail

Walking into the Magic Kingdom

Melissa and Colin let us borrow their baby-leash since Max is mobile now.

Clearly it didn't last very long.  He doesn't move fast enough yet to warrant the leash so he got to just roam free, especially in the morning when there was zero crowd.

Kaelan's new favorite ride, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.  He rode it two times in a row he loved it so much.  Here you can see Grandpa taking a video of the entire ride.

Then it was off to Splash Mountain.  Kaelan's in the front with Grandpa

He looks so happy because we just sat down on Pirates!!!!

Waiting for Tiki Room show to begin

Be afraid...be very afraid!!!

A quick shot of the castle in the background on our way to eat lunch

Watching the block party parade with Grandma while we wait for lunch.  We decided to save even more money and brought sandwiches, chips, and grapes for lunch.  It was really delicious (thanks to Publix chicken salad) and convenient!

Dad got some excellent pictures from the terrace where we ate in Tomorrowland

After lunch we got some pretty heavy rain.  There were showers on and off for the next hour and a half but it didn't ruin a thing.  Here they are waiting for a break in the rain.

The rain had perfect timing since it was naptime for this little guy.

After a break in the rain (kind of), Mike, K, Grandma, and Grandpa made a break for Buzz Lightyear and the People Mover.  Clearly they got a little wet in the process.  :)

Naps over...time for Winnie the Pooh!!!

Playing at Pooh's Thoughtful Spot outside the ride.

The guys pulling Gopher out of his hole

Our little Arthur

Mickey's Philharmagic

Carousel obviously...somehow a carousel never gets old to them - never did to me as a kid either now that I think of it.  ;)

Max couldn't miss out on the People Mover, one of his favorites

Scott, Melonna, and I held a nice big spot for the Electrical Light Parade while the others rode Peter Pan

Waiting for the parade

Max LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the parade!!!!  He pointed and yelled at every single float and character while he danced and clapped.  It was FABULOUS!!!!!

The next day, Mike and I got up VERY early to get him to the airport.  I brought back doughnuts and coffee for breakfast

Then it was off to Downtown Disney

Posing in the Christmas shop

Loving on these Mickey stuffed animals

Then we met the McCormick family for lunch at T-Rex.  Grandpa knew it was the boys' favorite so he treated us and it was YUMMMMMYYYY!!!!  Here's Kaelan and Jack coloring while we wait for our food.
After lunch, we decided to let the kids play in the water before leaving for nap.  There are fountains that shoot out of the ground in one area of the Marketplace at Downtown Disney and the kids love to play in the water.  However, it was a very short activity unfortunately.  From a surrounding bench, I got Kaelan changed and off he ran to play.  Next I got Max ready and sent him off, smiling and excited.  The next thing I knew, as I'm putting their clothes away, I heard Max screaming.  I thought he might just be screaming cuz it was fun but when I looked up, he turned around and had the worst look on his face.  I ran to him immediately and realized his little feet were hot from the ground.  It hadn't been very hot that morning and I didn't even think to put shoes on their feet since they'd be in the water.  However, the Florida sun is the Florida sun and you can never underestimate it.  He continued to scream like I'd never heard him scream before, and once I got him to the bench, I discovered why.  His poor little feet were completely blistered and bubbly and some of the skin was even coming away (almost like it was melting off his foot).  It was absolutely HORRIBLE and TERRIFYING!!!  Luckily, Melissa, Colin, and Melonna were there.  Melissa watched the other kids while Colin called their pediatrician for advice, Melonna looked for first aid, and I took Max to rinse his feet in cold water.  Mom and Dad had one more thing to shop for so they had no idea any of this was going on.  Long story short, 2nd degree burns, an afternoon wasted driving around looking for medical care, but after 2 hours of screaming in pain, he finally fell asleep in the car.  After that, he was pretty much fine.  Colin's phone consult with their pediatrician proved to be the most help.  They suggested we get some cooling, burn spray for the pain.  Dad also called Aunt Linda (always good to have a nurse in the family!!!!) who told us to keep him on ibuprofen for the swelling and pain.  With all this, he slept perfectly that night and since we were leaving the next day, it was easy to keep him off his feet.  However, he was ready to go even then.  He wanted to play at McDonalds and showed no sense of pain with his feet at all.  He's a VERY tough little guy!!!!  And I'm VERY glad that's over!!!!!
Playing at the McCormick's later that day

I had to add this picture.  On the trip home Tuesday, we stopped at McDonalds to eat lunch.  Max ate this entire cheeseburger and almost a whole yogurt parfait.  It was quite an accomplishment!
