Fun in the Snow

Ok, so I dropped Kaelan off at school yesterday and his teachers asked me if I thought we would really get all the snow we are supposed to get. I responded by saying, "We're supposed to be getting snow today?" Apparently the forecast was for our area to get 2-4 inches of snow. Well, being from the midwest, Mike and I know that they freak out about even the slightest chance of snow down here. So you can imagine our surprise when we actually did receive about 3 or 4 inches of snow last night before going to bed. We couldn't wait to play in it today! Here are some pics from the day.

Kaelan and Daddy making a snowman in the backyard. Well, you can see that Daddy did most of the hard work while K spent a lot of time bashing the huge snowballs with his golf clubs.

Kaelan wanted to help add the face...made up of legos, our family's favorite toy! :)

Posing with their final masterpiece.

"Look at me Mommy!"

Another pose after Kaelan made a couple changes, including trading hats with the snowman. "Yee-haw!"

Now that he had the cowboy hat on, he had to go up to his room and ride his horsy. "Giddy-up!"

After playing in the backyard, we went down to a common area in our neighborhood and sled down a hill. Our neighbors from across the street were there too and they let us use their sled. It worked much better than the pool raft we used the 1st time. ;)

Loves going down...not so excited about walking back up. "Pull me Daddy."
We had a great morning. It couldn't have been a better day to play in the snow. The sun was out, the snow was perfect, and it wasn't too cold (close to 40). Not surprisingly, almost all the snow has now melted even though it's only 1:00 in the afternoon. Oh well, at least we took advantage of it while it was here.
