4th of July

We had a great 4th of July at Nana and Papa's house in Greenville, SC. They invited us to go with them to their Country Club for an evening of festivities. It was SO much fun!!!! They had a DJ (who played awesome music), fabulous food, bounce house-type activities for the kids, followed by fireworks of course after dark. We all had a great time but watching K enjoy himself is always the highlight for us. Here are some pics and video to enjoy!

K is on his way up this huge blow-up slide. It truly is enormous and he had NO problem doing it all by himself without even looking back for reassurance. The next few pictures are just a progression of his first trip up and down the slide.

You can tell how much fun he had! I think this was his favorite thing there!
As the night went on, more and more people came which meant more and more kids. Unfortunately for Kaelan, it meant more and more big kids. This shows the LONG line of kids being incredibly patient while waiting for K to slowly climb to the top. After this, Daddy came to the rescue.

Going down with Daddy...just as fun!

Next stop...bouncy house! Luckily the bigger kids stuck with the slide so that left the bouncing to the ones that were more his size. He felt very comfortable and although he's experienced a ton of them, this was the longest he'd ever stayed inside one.

"Hi, Mommy!"

"Hi, Daddy!"

His favorite part...falling down!

"Did you see that?!"

They also had a blow-up basketball game. Although it was clearly for the big kids and some adults, he just had to try it out.

"Look out Daddy!"

He soon gave up shooting the basketballs and instead decided he wanted to play soccer with them. I don't know how it didn't hurt his toes but he was dribbling like a champ while Mike was trying to catch up so he could return the ball.

"Ha, I got it!" says Daddy. Kaelan says, "Oh ya?"

We soon decided to replace the basketball with his own ball. The entire driving range was available to run and roam so there was plenty of room for his shinanigans. :)

Luckily for him, the practice sand trap was also available for play. He got to work right away.

He made a little friend too and they had a blast! Getting him out wasn't so easy.

  1. I know I already told you this, but I can't believe K was just going up the stairs and down that huge slide all by himself, like a big boy!!! Looks like he had a blast as usual! :)
